Welcome to the GIN-Data Wiki Pages

The GIN-Data effort is exploring interoperability in particular for

• Point to point movement of data between storage in different grids
• Usage of managed resources and their more sophisticated APIs (e.g. SRM, SRB)

The whole area of data management is of course much wider but the inital efforts focus on the two issues mentioned above. See the GIN data overview document for details of the planned activities.

GIN-Data is sponsoring three distinct activities:

1. grid-ftp interoperability
2. SRM interoperability (see also detailed plans)
3. SRB interoperability (see also detailed plans)

First results have been reported during GGF17 in Tokyo. You can find the presentations here.
